PARMAR UPPED AT MINISTRY OF SOUND

Dipesh Parmar has been named President of Sony U.K. label Ministry of Sound Recordings, effective today. He has been MD of the label since Sony acquired it in 2016.

Parmar takes the reins from David Dollimore, who has been joint President of RCA and MoS for more than three years. Sony U.K. chief Jason Iley, to whom Parmar reports, said: “Dipesh delivers time and again and is hugely respected across the music industry. Within the label he has cultivated a team of dynamic and ambitious executives and their energy filters through the whole company."

During his time at Ministry, Parmar has delivered a string of hits and is responsible for developing and launching the careers of Sigala, DJ Fresh and London Grammar, who achieved their first #1 album at the label with Truth is a Beautiful Thing in 2017.

Under Parmar and Dollimore's leadership, the team have achieved eight platinum-plus selling singles since the Sony acquisition, including Riton x Oliver Heldens' "Turn Me On," Regard's "Ride It," Doja Cat's "Say So" and U.K. #1, "Roses" by Saint JHN.

“I’ve been at Ministry of Sound all my adult life, starting as work experience almost 20 years ago, and I couldn’t be more excited to now lead this iconic label I’ve grown up in,” Parmar said. “Three decades since its inception, the Ministry brand and team has gone from strength to strength, our roster is the strongest it’s ever been and I’m looking forward to driving the label forward.”
